Stem Cells for a Cure

Stem cell research has always put a frown on people's faces because of the idea that stem cells are harvested from unborn fetuses. That is not the case today because stem cell research now suggest that Women's menstrual blood contains stem cells. Stem cell research may be controversial, but it may lead to cures for life-threatening disease. The Celle website provides products that efficiently collects samples at a limited-time introductory price. Here is a Celle Client Testimonial.

Taking Control: Future Therapies for a Host of Serious Diseases May Be Found in Women's Menstrual Blood

July 07, 2008: 01:28 PM EST

OLDSMAR, Fla., July 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- With today’s hectic lifestyle, where most women are juggling careers, family, relationships, and a host of activities, the idea of possibly facing a serious illness in the future is not something that readily comes to mind -- especially when a woman is in the prime of her life. But what most women don’t know, is that the key to treating a number of possibly life-threatening diseases that she, a parent, a sibling or even her children may face in later years, such as osteoporosis, heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, may be found within her own body -- in vital stem cells, which can now be harvested from her own menstrual blood.

Now, thanks to the revolutionary research and technology of C’elle, a service dedicated to providing women with a safe and easy method of collecting and preserving stem cells found in her menstrual fluid each month, even the busiest woman can take control of her future, right in the privacy of her own home. With C’elle’s non-invasive collection process, menstrual cells are processed and cryo-preserved (stored at a very low temperature) for potential cellular therapies that may be used in the future. These self-renewing cells one day may even be used for sports medicine or cosmeceutical treatments, such as anti-aging therapies.

"C’elle enables and empowers a woman to take control of her future health, and possibly of those genetically closest to her, in a fast, painless and stress free way," said Michelle Kay, Marketing and Sales Manager for C’elle. "We live in exciting times, as science and technology are discovering how extremely valuable menstrual blood stem cells really are, and the enormous treatment potential they represent for future therapies. C’elle’s ongoing research is supporting these promising findings."

New 28 Gallon Euro Aquarium

I had recently added a new aquarium to my home. This time it's a 28 gallon euro (bow front) aquarium. My female guppy had its third batch of fry, and the 10 gallon aquarium is get small for my guppy family. I had set up the aquarium with 10 glow in the dark plastic plants, 4 mondo plants, and 3 petsmart "corkscrew" plants. I had transferred all my adult guppies into the new tank. I also transferred the 2nd batch of fry to a fish breeder on the side. Here are some pictures, I couldn't get enough light from the glow in the dark plants so no pics on those in the dark.

Summer Paintballing Fun!

Recently we went paintballing, and let me tell you it was really fun. For those who don't know, paintball is a sport in which players eliminate their opponents by shooting and hitting them with paint filled paintballs fired from a paintball gun. The paintball gun uses compressed air to fire the paintball. On impact, the paintball will break and mark the target with paint. This was my first time and I was really excited. I got dressed in my BDU's or fatigues and set out for some fun. The setting we played in was a wooded area and blue against red. I was on the blue team, and let me tell you, if you play and are good at first person shooter games, you're going to have an edge on your opponents. We had a couple of wins and loses, but most importantly we had fun. We are seet on doing it again this weekend, and if it becomes a hobby, we definitely going to buy our own equipment. So I highly recommend anyone that loves outdoor activities to try paintball.
If your considering to pick it up as a hobby, i suggest BT Paintball guns.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King Review

Recently I grabbed a copy of the latest Final Fantasy on the Wii, and I must say its nothing like a traditional Final Fantasy. Basically its a city/kingdom builder, but a fun one at that. So you start off as a young king who traveled a great distance to come to a kingdom that your father, the previous King Epitav, has left you. Mystery surrounds your father's disappearance. You are then greeted my a great crystal that grants you the power of architec, which lets you rebuild your kingdom, literately. Then you realize your powers depend on the amount of elementile you have. That where you need adventurers to travel and search dungeons for you. Basically you hire adventurers to play final fantasy for you. Then you build up your kingdom, while the story unfolds. If your a true final fantasy fan, you'll love the game, even though you send others to actually play the combat part.

Gas Prices!!!

with Gas prices going over $4 per gallon, even 4 cylinder gas savers are starting to lose their gas saving titles. Though they still save gas in a miles per gallon sense, the cost to fill the tank is getting expensive. Some people on team-integra.net have added hydrogen to their vehicles to help with the money saving, although they are still in the test phase. I have research this, and the bad, which is actually really bad, is the fact that hydrogen makes metal brittle. Hopefully if their test goes successful, I'll do the add-on and post on here what to do.

My Hypermiling Results

Results are in. Even with bolt-on performance mods on a car, it will still be able to save gas with hypermiling techniques. On average, an Integra uses around 30 mpg on the Highway. From Lynchburg, VA to Washington DC is about 180 miles. So in all it takes 6 gallons to get to DC. After putting 6 gallons into my empty integra. I started my trip. 20 miles into I found a great car to drift behind. He was going my ideal speed and the best part was I drifted behind him for about 90 miles. After reaching DC I still had about 2 gallons left in the tank. So in all I used about 4 gallons, calculating to about 45 mpg. Thats amazing, but I couldn't of done it without that car I drifted behind and the de-elevation from the mountains to almost sea level.

Civilization Revolution Demo for the PS3

After seeing that the Civilization Revolution Demo was out, I quickly downloaded and gave it a try before my trip to the Capital. I must say, the demo was awesome. The graphics were great, gameplay was awesome, and controls were easy & functional. Being a Civilization veteran, I very much welcome this new addition to the series. The great thing about Revolution was that it plays like it was meant to be played on a console. Thats good news for console gamers. I'll leave off here seeing that I only sent about 15 minutes with the demo before going on my trip.

Get a Free Car, Really but theres a Catch

Recently I was surfing around the web and came across an Ad saying that you can get a free car. Now the catch was that the car is covered with Advertisemest and you have to be living in a certain place to actually get one. After researching, I found out that they are very legit. By now if you haven't found a site that doesn't ask for a fee then here is a link:

drivers.freecarmedia.com/regnow.cfm

Again it depends on where you live and where you drive and park. I myself, have been waiting for lucky response. So good luck.

Fisher Price - Rainforest Booster Seat

We recently bought this for our little girl. Seeing that we travel freqeunently, we could not bring a high with us all the time. Fisher Price's Portable Booster Seat was our answer. It straps down to any chair, has toys for your baby to play with while you make his/her food, and then converts to an eating area. Our baby loves it. She does interact with the toys but sometimes gets frustrated that she can't taste them because she strapped down. The seat also seems very comfortable for our baby, plus its easy to clean. This Portable Seat gets two thumbs up for portability, easy to clean, entertaining, and compact.

The Winnie Stand

If ever you decide to come to Lynchburg, VA, drop by downtown Church St on to the Winnie Stand. No its not like those New York tradition winnie stands, its more like a little food place around the corner. Not only to they provide one of the best 8 oz. beef burgers I have ever tasted , called "Big Bertha", but they provide the feeling like your at home. The people there are friendly and down to earth. They also serve many kinds of breakfast meals, subs, burgers, and sandwiches.

MGS4 Street Date Broken

This news may be a a couple days old, but to think that some people cheated to get the game earlier seem really unfair. Especially when some of them decide to put actually gameplay footage on YouTube. Although Konami's general manager Pete Stone affirms that the Street Date had not been broken, some user review-like video on Youtube say otherwise. Hopefully some of these people would at least keep the spoilers to themselves.

Hypermiling Test for Modded Imports

This weekend I will be traveling about 180 miles from Lynchburg, VA to Washington D.C. and will be practicing hypermiling techniques. With gas prices so high, even my 4 cylinder 1994 Acura Integra can seem like a gas money eater. Coming from the "City in the Mountains" and going to the Capital is mostly "downhill" driving. This is the biggiest advantage I have to do Hypermiling. Also since I have my car lower than usually cars, plus having aerodynamic body parts, I should have less air resistance. Currently I get about 30 mpgs on the highway. After this weekend I'll see if I can benefit from hypermiling with a Modded import car.

My Baby's First word!!!

Today at 11:50am June 4, 2008, my baby girl Jayem Mae said her first English word. That word is MAMA. Too bad it wasn't PAPA....lol. Here's the video. This is what you call an unforgettable moment.

Wireless Nunchuk for Wii

Nyko has release a Wireless Nunchuk for the Wii. Its kinda cool now to play the wii fully wireless. The way the Nunchuk connects to the wiimote is by a dongle, in which you sync the nunchuk to the wiimote. The nunchuk feels slightly heavy and wider to the original corded one but does not make a difference really. Also they added a strap to protect your very expensive LCD 46" flat Screen TV from flying nunchuks, like the wiimote. I all the Wireless Nunchuk is a great addition to the Wii. Its more convenient now to switch from the wii sports boxing to bowling.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots - Thoughts before Release

With the release of MGS4 being days away, one has to hope that everything goes right for Snake's last mission. Issues brought by the recently released Grand Theft Auto 4 have left some wary about the upcoming blockbuster hit, and small number of them would not be enjoying MGS4 until they received their refurbished replacement units from Sony. Although knowing Kojima, his tediousness would insure that his latest creation would be bug-free. With that said, MGS4 looks to be a great ending to "an old killer hired to do some wet work."

Note: I will be getting the Limited Edition and will be reviewing it.

10 Gallon Aquarium with Guppies

Here is my 10 Gallon Hexagon Aquarium with Guppies. Recently the Female Guppy gave birth to 31 baby fries. Currently I have separated the fry and the parent because the mother seems to want to eat her babies. The fry are in another tank full of algae, a good source of food for them. Here are some pictures of my tank. On the 4th picture you can see the algae cover fry tank on the side.
